KayleeSenior Spotlights 2025

I started in the Drama Department from the fall of freshmen year. I knew since I was young that I wanted to pursue theatre and be a part of the community that created productions I loved so much. I have been in 8 full-scale stage productions and 3 of the Student-Directed One Acts. My favorite show to take part in would The Play That Goes Wrong in Fall 2024. We had such a talented cast for TPTGW, and being a member of the publicity and advertising crew, we had such a blast creating art and graphics for the production. I had the opportunity to create another playbill for this production, which is always one my favorite things to do! I also had SO much creative freedom with TPTGW’s playbill, I was able to mess around and explore my creative side while goofing off in the playbill and delving into the “wrong” aspect of the show. This is the same for the 3D display we created, which, I believe, was the best one we ever did, it was super funky but also hilariously “messed-up”. My crew had a blast making advertising that were purposely wrong.

If I had to describe my drama experience at GHMS in just three words:

Memorable, Passionate, Familial

I’ll never forget the moments and memories I’ve created over the last 4 years, they mean the world to me and have had an impact on my life from day one. There is so much fire and passion in the Drama Department. No matter what, every single person wants to be in that auditorium. They love the art as much as I do and there isn’t a better place to find people as in love with theatre as you are than at Garner. Over the past 4 years I’ve created friendship and bonds that I never knew I could have. When I leave, I know it’ll be okay, because I have deep-rooted bonds that can never be torn apart, and relationships that I wouldn’t have had without the Department.

My plans after High School

I plan to attend Wake Tech for my minor and transfer to NCSU to finish my bachelor’s degree in Marketing while pursuing a minor in Graphic Design.
